I am a PhD candidate at the Département d’informatique at Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM), under the supervision of Abdoulaye Baniré Diallo, director of the Laboratoire Bioinformatique à l’UQAM, Adrian Tsang, director of the Centre for Structural and Functional Genomics (CSFG) at Concordia University, and Marie-Jean Meurs, Associate Professor with the Département d’informatique at UQAM.
I hold a NSERC Alexander Graham Bell Canada Graduate Scholarship, and was awarded the FRQNT Doctoral research scholarship.
My research interests lie in the fields of machine learning, bioinformatics, information retrieval and extraction, big data mining, natural language processing and understanding.
During my masters I was awarded a MITACS Accelerate fellowship to conduct research in supervised learning, text mining and data sampling methods applied to biomedical text classification.
