Hayda Almeida is a PhD student in the Département d’informatique at UQAM, under the supervision of Dr. Abdoulaye Baniré Diallo, director of the Laboratoire Bioinformatique à l’UQAM, Dr. Adrian Tsang, director of the Centre for Structural and Functional Genomics at Concordia University, and Dr. Marie-Jean Meurs.
She holds the NSERC Alexander Graham Bell Canada Graduate Scholarship, and was awarded the FRQNT Doctoral research scholarship.
Her research interests lie in the fields of machine learning, information retrieval and extraction, bioinformatics, big data mining, natural language processing and understanding.
She obtained a MSc. in Computer Science after conducting research in supervised learning, text mining and data sampling methods applied to biomedical text classification.
She also holds a BSc. in Computer Science, and a BSc. in Social Communication.
